The Communications Lead develops and coordinates lines of communication within the organization among employees. The Communications Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Communications Lead implements policies and programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of activities affecting employees. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
The Lead, Employer Group Sales Communications position will drive the communication strategy and activation in support of the Humana Employer Group Business. This role is an integral part of the broader Employer Group Sales Enablement team. This individual will lead the development and execution of annual communications plans and associated communication strategies for activities related to helping key stakeholders - including Product, Marketing, Underwriting, and other Sales partners - understand and engage with our Employer Group Business and support strategies. Specific communications tactics may include - support for discussions in Executive Weekly Sales Checkpoint calls, Bi-weekly Sales Leader meetings, bi-weekly Sales 411 forums, Weekly Sales Compass publications, and ad hoc Sales Insider messages. Key internal clients will include a breadth of partners across the Employer Group Business, including the sales, marketing, product, and communications organizations.
Working with leaders and executives across multiple areas of the company, the Lead will conceptualize, design, and activate communications strategies that advance Humana's Employer Group Business support strategies to ensure that our sales teams, sales support functional partners, and business partners have visibility to the breadth of services and support provided by Employer Group Sales. The Lead will also help to coordinate thought leadership, business plan creation, and communications strategies in support of key stakeholders.
This role will own responsibility for liaising with external vendors and agencies (for example, external communications agencies) to ensure that the work meets the organization's strategy and business requirements, deadlines, and budget. Additional responsibilities include leading internal partnerships related to communications strategies that are critical to the commercial business strategy - including clinical programs, pharmacy, customer service, etc. - to help shape the market positioning of Humana's Employer Group Business.
Additionally, this role will be a thought partner, advising executives to help them develop communications strategies on matters of significance to drive awareness, engagement, reputation and growth on behalf of Humana's Employer Group Business. The Lead will exhibit outstanding independent judgment and decision making on complex issues related to communications, work under minimal supervision and be able to use independent judgment to analyze a variety of factors when determining the best course of action to deliver on the communications goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent job experience in Sales and/or experience communicating about sales initiatives, processes, programs, products, and/or systems in a large matrixed organization.
2 years of Sales communications and/or Sales experience
2 years of project leadership experience
Progressive marketing and/or advertising experience (In the Healthcare industry preferred)
Must be have experience contributing to an organization focused on sales growth and retention
Work At Home requirements
: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required. A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications
Experience Consulting and/or communicating about sales initiatives, processes, programs, products, and/or systems in a large matrixed organization
Background in health care communications
Prior supervisory experience combined with communications and go-to-market strategy experience
Experience selling and/or sales consulting
